1 day Introduction to QGIS
Monday, May 1, 9am-5pm EST
This 8-hour workshop is designed to introduce you to QGIS 3.x, an alternative open source GIS software for viewing, editing, and managing spatial data in a wide variety of commonly used vector and raster formats. It is lightweight, flexible, and can be installed on Windows, MacOSX, and Linux. Best of all, most will find QGIS to be extremely affordable while still providing a growing list of features and functionality.

Introduction to Spatial Data using R as GIS – 1 day
Tuesday, May 2, 9am-4pm EST
In this one day course we will explore how to use R to import, manage and process spatial data. We will also cover the process of making choropleth maps, as well as some basic spatial analysis. Finally, we will cover the use of loops to make multiple maps quickly and easily, one of the major benefits of using a scripting language to make maps, rather than traditional graphic point-and-click interface.
Trainer: Nick Bearman
