Jonathan has been mentoring geospatial professionals in Canada’s geomatics job market for over five years. He has spoken at national conferences on issues related to employment, and gives a series of career seminars to job seekers across Canada. Jonathan has over 15 years of experience in geomatics and IT, and is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society.

Randy Hale
Instructor
Randal Hale, a geospatial industry veteran of 25+ years, is the owner and operator of North River Geographic Systems, Inc. (NRGS). NRGS primarily works with free and open-source software for Geoinformatics (FOSS4G). He volunteers with the QGIS Community and serves as an “at large” member of osgeo.us. He is usually found sifting in data or in a canoe – hopefully the latter.

Peter Croswell

Peter Croswell, PMP, GISP, CMS is GIS/IT implementation and management expert with 40+ years of experience as an GIS/IT practitioner, program manager, and consultant. He has managed and worked on a range of GIS and IT assessment, planning, design, and implementation projects for government, private sector, and non-profit organizations in the US, Canada, Europe, China, and the Caribbean.

Nick Bearman
GIS Trainer and Consultant
Dr. Nick Bearman completed his PhD in GIS at the University of East Anglia in 2011 and has since worked in both the public and private sectors, using GIS on a wide variety of projects and helping others develop their GIS skills.He delivers bespoke GIS training programmes to a wide variety of clients including University of Liverpool, ONS, UCL, University of Southampton and American University of Beirut, Lebanon.

Eric Purdie
Teaching Assistant
Eric Purdie has been a Teaching Assistant of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for 6 years. Eric specializes in creating high-quality activities for use in class to help students learn the skills they need. He holds a master’s degree and an Advanced Diploma in GIS Applications from Vancouver Island University. His experience includes 10 years of working in the geomatics field, including working as a visiting scientist at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).
